Need some motivation

I'm having a hard time. My husband is an awesome cook. I feel like I could resist but I don't want to hurt his feelings. It sounds lame but it is an issue that I am having a problem dealing with.

  1. My husband is a great cook also and he is always bringing home treats and fixing me food. I almost always give in but then I almost never lose weight. I talked to him about how it made it so much harder for me when he does this so now when I say no, it doesn't hurt his feelings. He still does it sometimes and he still eats his good stuff alone sometimes but for me every time I say "no" it gets easier the next time.

I'm sure he'd rather see you successful. Maybe you should get him a new cookbook that has healthy recipes that taste good so you can still eat his cooking and he can still make great food. A few I like are the Eat Clean Diet cookbook, Hungry Girl, and the Weight Watchers cookbooks! They also break down the nutritionals for you so you're not guessing.

  2. My friend has the same problem and PURE GUILT when she doesn't eat something that he has given to her as "a gift". I think Amy is totally right on with this one! If he loves cooking for you, try the awesome cookbooks she's suggested. I have the opposite problem.. my husband will WAIT for me to cook something even if he is starving and then make dry heaving noises when it look stoo healthy! BLAH!
